Mandatory Workplace Safety Standards
According to the State guidelines, there are four mandatory aspects to a successful and safe reopening:
Social distancing measures - All clients and staff are required to wear face masks/coverings when in the office and during sessions. - Clients will be asked to call when arriving, but prior to entering the building. You will be informed when it is OK to enter the office. - We have limited the number of therapists that will be in the office at one time to allow for appropriate distancing. - Our therapists are required to wear face masks, gowns./smocks, and eye protection during all sessions. - No walk-in appointments and no guests in the waiting area.
Hygiene measures - Hand washing facilities and supplies are available at the facility. - Hand sanitizer is available throughout the office. - Therapists will continue to follow hand-washing protocols before and after each session, and as necessary throughout the day.
Staffing and Operation measures - Our therapists have been trained regarding social distancing and hygiene protocols as they relate to COVID-19. - Any therapist that is feeling symptoms is instructed to stay at home and will only return after completing an agreed upon plan. - Temperatures for clients and staff will be recorded for each session/shift. - If you are not feeling well (with any symptoms), please do not come for your appointment. Our cancellation policy has been adjusted to support this. - We have increased time between sessions and staggered appointments when possible to allow for the additional procedures. - Additional screening questions will be asked prior to appointments: 1. Have you had a fever in the last 24 hours? 2. Do you have now, or have recently had, any respiratory or flu symptoms, sore throat, or shortness of breath? 3. Have you been in contact with anyone in the last 14 days who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? *** If you answer yes to any of these questions, please contact the office prior to making an appointment ***
Cleaning and Disinfecting measures - High touch areas in shared parts of the office are disinfected according to a defined schedule. - All used linens are kept in closed bins and handled only by gloved employees. - Each room is disinfected with EPA approved products and additionally sanitized with UV-C light between sessions.
Our office follows infection control recommendations provided by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. Doing so allows us to make sure that our infection prevention procedures are current and adhere to each agencies' recommendations in addition to a variety of additional measures we take in order to remain diligent.
